Jars

Jars are most often used for fluid collections but can also be found in other collections where the item is liquid or viscous and must be contained. Most often, glass is the material of choice for these containers, but sometimes plastic is utilized. There are many options for lids, but primary considerations include: access to the contents, the ability to seal the container, and non-corroding or reactive properties. Safe storage of jars includes consideration of how the wet specimens within are labeled and how jars are containerized to prevent accidental breakage and spills.
