Rooms/Structures
A room or structure provides primary protection for collection items. Modifications to a space can enhance storage capabilities and collections safety. For the most part, this section does not cover solutions that involve room- or building-level engineering or pest control solutions as these issues are covered in other resources such as the AIC Wiki, and Museumpests.org
This site hosts specific solutions for improving storage but the overall environment and organization of storage is the focus of the RE-ORG website that presents a storage reorganization methodology with a systematic, step-by-step approach to improve the collection’s potential for use and access.
